Virginia (Ginny) Skeddle

Virginia (Ginny) Skeddle of New Sewickley Township passed away January 17, 2022 while under the care of Mercy Hospital and Good Samaritan Hospice.

Born April 24, 1944 in Fremont, Ohio to the late Robert and Lucille (Magnette) Mehling. Ginny was a registered nurse in both hospital and home care which she especially loved for the bonds made with her patients.

Ginny loved spending time in her backyard oasis at home and camp in Cook Forest. She was an award winning garden club member, an accomplished crafter and golfer as well as a world traveler.

She will be greatly missed by Alan Skeddle her loving husband of 38 years and her daughter Kristyn Woofter (Larry). Proud grandmother of David (Megan) and Stephen Woofter, and great grandmother of Emeris Woofter. She also leaves behind to cherish her memory her step children Marcee Gregg (Matt) and David Skeddle as well as her best friend and sister-in-law Gail Jackson.

Also mourning her loss are sister and brother-n-laws: Jane Hoch, Tisha Tuner, Jim and Joe Daubel and the Mehling nephews Matt, Doug, Ryan and Eric.

In addition to her parents, Ginny was preceded in death by David E. Daubel and her brother Robert Mehling and his wife Janet.

Family and friends are welcome on Sunday from 2-6 pm at Devlin Funeral Home of Cranberry, 2678 Rochester Road, Cranberry Twp. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday at 10 am at St. Ferdinand Church. Interment will follow at Allegheny County Memorial Park, Allison Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in Ginny’s name to Good Samaritan Hospice

    I have wonderful memories of Ginny from our childhood days of being raised in the same black of Jackson St. in Fremont. So very sorry to hear of her passing,may she rest in heavenly peace. My sympathy to her family.
