Just found out the passing of the “Rock” . We graduated from the Abbey in 74′. I attendant summer school at Portsmouth Abbey in 1970. I arrived late at the Abbey and went straight to Spillman dinning hall for dinner. Several students were laughing about a student who had been sprayed by a skunk. After dinner I checked into Bennett’s dorm. I found out that student was Tom. I quit laughing when I found out Tom was assigned as my roommate. Our room stunk for weeks.
I knew Tom’s brother, Steve, at Portsmouth – please accept my condolences and prayers.
Tom was my junior year roommate at Portsmouth Abbey. He was a great guy and a lot of fun. We were on the football ball team together and were in several classes , including a memorable senior year in Latin 4 . My thoughts and prayers to the family.
The Lord bless you and keep you, Rock! I miss those fun times and fort-building with you in Rhode Island all those years ago.
The “Rock” earned his name well, carried the ball across the goal-line every game at Portsmouth Abbey, couldn’t be stopped or tackled! Was REALLY looking forward to seeing him at our 50th next year! Sail on, Tom!
Rest in peace, Tom. I will always remember our weekends at Cook Forest, the laughs, great times and your spectacular chili. I know you’re watching over Annette and Cassie. My heart and prayers are with you all
