Roy J. Schrenk

Age 92, of Ross Twp., on Tuesday, March 29, 2022. Roy was born on September 7, 1929 and was a lifelong resident of Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. He was a graduate of North Catholic High School in 1947 and Korean War Veteran, Army – Second Infantry Division as a combat engineer/welder. Roy was employed as a career welder until his retirement in 1992, primarily working for Allis-Chalmers and Triangle Welding. Post retirement, worked as a school bus driver for Laidlaw. He is preceded in death by his wife of 35 years (Betty Lou Garbe) and son John; Survived by six children: Judith (Bob Florczyk) Lutz, FL, James Schrenk (Andrea), Pittsburgh, PA, Janet (the late John Petok), Pittsburgh, PA, Jeanne Schrenk, Pittsburgh, PA, Joanne (Michael Kilian), Lutz, FL, Joyce (Douglas Sheerer), Fombell, PA; 15 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and his wife of 14 years, Dolores (White) Schrenk. An avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Pittsburgh Pirates fan. He played league softball throughout his lifetime and participated in senior league softball for over 20 years and finally hung up his glove at age 78. He spent his lifetime caring for his family, giving to the community and participating in his church. Most of all, he made people smile!!!!! Friends will be received Sunday 2-6PM at DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME, 806 Perry Hwy., Ross Twp., where funeral services will be held on Monday 10AM. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions will be made to VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System, Voluntary Service, 1010 Delafield Rd., Pgh, PA 15215.
