Frank A. Viola Jr.
Age 91, Cranberry Twp., formerly of McCandless and Whitehall, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 31, 2022. Frank was born March 26, 1931, son of the late Frank A., and Gaetana Viola Sr. Beloved husband of the late Rita T. (Larocca) Viola, whom he married on June 27, 1955; loving father of Diana (Tony) Cotellese, and Frank J. (Debbie) Viola Sr; pap of Michael Santucci, Jessica Viola (Charles Rapuano), Nichole Santucci, and Frank J. Viola Jr. ( fiance Mandy Clark); great-grandpap of Anthony and Sophia Rita. He is also survived by his brother, Michael Viola ( Florence deceased) . Frank was preceded in death by his 3 sisters, Mary Tomasello (James), Margaret Magnotta, (Louis), Louise Presto (Dominic) and brother Nicholas Viola (surviving Rosalind). Frank is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Frank served in the Us Air Force honorably, and was a Korean War veteran. He retired from the Pittsburgh Post Gazette, and was a member of teamster local 211. After retiring, he spent time at the family grocery store, Viola’ s Evan City Market.
Family and friends are welcome on Sunday from 2-6 pm at Devlin Funeral Home of Cranberry, 2678 Rochester Road, Cranberry Twp. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday at 10 am at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish, St. Sebastian Church. Emtombment will follow at Allegheny County Memorial Park with military honors.
Frank loved his dogs as much as his family, in lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to Animal Friends 562 Camp Horne Rd. Pittsburgh, Pa 15237.

I am so sorry to hear of your Father’s passing. I always remember seeing him on the road and at the store. You have my condolences remember nobody can take the memories you hold in your heart that will get you through those hard days.
Frank and I were good friends at the post gazette. So sorry for your loss. We shared allot of good times
