Kerr,

Robert C.

Age 102, of Ross Twp., on Thursday, January 27, 2022. Husband of the late Cecelia (Benson); Loving father of Robert J., Daniel J. (Rosemary), and Dr. Timothy J. (Romana); His children and grandchildren were everything to him. He rarely missed his grandchildren’s athletic event or activity, He was the proud grandfather of Bobby, Brian, Kiersten, Zak, Alex, Natasha, Conrad, Carson, Collin, and Celena; Robert was preceded in death by 6 siblings: Bud Kerr, Virginia Kress, Louise Kerr, Peg Novak, Alice Heyl and Ruth Magiera;

Robert grew up in Bellevue across from Assumption Church and taught many priests how to drive, and drove those around that didn’t know how to drive. He also sold floor covering after college and installed the Assumption School floor for no charge.

He was a Navy Veteran of WWII. Upon being honorably discharged, Robert earned his college degree at Pitt using the GI Bill (best thing the government ever did). He was instrumental in development of I-279 Interstate through the North Side working for the state highway department.

Robert was a devout Catholic and his faith was very important to him. Robert dedicated much of his time at St. Sebastian Parish. He was a charter volunteer at St Sebastian Spark of Hope, a parish council member, and altar server at funerals, and attended mass daily after retirement. In addition to his dedication to his church, he was a 30+year volunteer Vincentian Nursing Home until he was 100 years old. He also volunteered for Meals on Wheels for 15 years.

Robert will be remembered for the phrase “Can’t Beat It” and “woo”.
