I was in the same graduating class as Matt and I admit we weren’t close at all but even then it still doesn’t feel real. If one came the closest to being a brother in all but familial form it was certaibly him. He felt like a brother we all might’ve wished for. Out of all the people I knew, his voice and energy still echoes in my head. I thank the highest of powers that I got to cross paths with one of the sweetest, genuine, heartfelt people to ever walk the earth.
“Now cracks a noble heart. Goodnight sweet prince. And flights of angels sing thee to thy rest”
Our deepest sympathies to you and your family. We were saddened to hear about his passing and he will forever be a Peebles kid. Keeping you all in our prayers during this difficult time.
I am so sorry for your loss. I went to North Allegheny with Matt and lived just a few doors down. He was such a kind soul. I will surely remember all the memories we had as kids playing basketball in our backyard. We are heartbroken by Matt’s sudden passing. He held such a special place in our son’s life, and the friendship they shared over the past four years was truly a blessing.
Matt was more than just our son’s best friend he was like family to us. Their bond grew into something rare and beautiful; they were inseparable. We will always be grateful for the joy, loyalty, and laughter they shared, and for the light Matt brought into our son’s life.
His kindness and beautiful spirit will never be forgotten. Our hearts are with your family during this incredibly difficult time.
I went to North Allegheny with Matt, and he was someone everyone knew, for all the right reasons. He was always a friendly face with such a joyful smile in the hallways. I feel truly blessed to have crossed paths with your son.
To the Miller family, I am so deeply sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. You raised a wonderful young man whose impact and reach extended far beyond what you may ever fully know.
I am going to miss this dude. It’s really disappointing that we don’t ever get to meet each other face to face again. I was hoping to see him again for a potential high school reunion, but was shocked to hear the unfortunate news of him disappearing. He made my life better as a student at NA. He was filled with joy, charisma, and always had a kind heart of helping others. May we please pray him luck and wish him well in heaven. Thank you for everything that you’ve done to help others. RIP Matt Miller ❤️
This loss of a child must be the most difficult loss of all. Although I did not know Matthew personally, I know that it is not just a loss for parents and family but for the organizations he volunteered. You have my heartfelt sympathy.
Matthew was everything you could ask for in a player. He was not always the biggest, fastest, or strongest however, his ability to always maintain a positive attitude and be an excellent teammate was exactly what every coach could ask for. He was the definition of a player that had true sportsmanship. He always wanted to get better and as a true teammate would, always wanted his teammates to succeed. For as long as I continue to coach I will always use Matthew as an example to future athletes and continue the legacy that he built for himself. Not only did his character stand out on the field but it’s truly one that you hope all athletes take off the field as well. I have always told players that the best comment they could receive is that they make the players around them better. Matty did just that with the attitude he carried day in and day out. A true testament to his parents Matt and Nora and his older brother Daniel.
I am so sorry for your loss. Matt gave me a great help when I first moved to NA and he was always a warm friend to me and to everyone. I will miss him dearly.
Our community South Hills Square, Whitehall Seton centers neighbor, knows what a great loss this is for you all. Our prayers are with you
I am so sorry for your loss. I have so many childhood memories of playing baseball with Matt, going to CCD with him, and of course all the wonderful times we had from our very first day at Peebles up until our high school graduation. It was an honor growing up with him and we are certainly going to miss him.
A life cut short. We know him since he was born. We saw him at Barb and Fred’s. He was also polite and cheerful to everyone there. You have or deepest sympathy.

Matt was one of my students at IUP. His kindness, love of teaching, and joy for life inspired us all. I could always count on him for a smile and a conversation. I will hold dearly to the memories of our conversations about teaching and life inspired us general.
I met Matthew last semester and we worked on a group project together. He was truly the light of the classroom and I have no doubt in my mind that he would have been an amazing educator. I barely knew him but just meeting him, he was the type of person that you felt like you knew forever. This is heartbreaking and shocking in many ways. I pray for all of his family and friends.
May Matt’s ride to God’s house be filled with eternal peace. The world lost a good one and God gained one.
In sympathy and friendship, Stephen, Tracey and Greg Laun
