On January 24, 2013, Marge Lowell of Ross Twp., passed away at the age of 77. She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Lowell, her parents; Harry J. and Margaret (Barringer) Wallace, her sister; Kathryn (Kay) Wojdyla and her brothers; William and Thomas Wallace. She is also preceded in death by a son; Robert Glenn Schmidt (survived by Brenda of Tarentum). Marge is survived by her three daughters; Cindy Hollis (Dean), Carol Salts (Jeffrey), and Cathleen Nye (Larry), her eight grandchildren; Erica Intihar, Mark Schmidt, Brock Schmidt, Elizabeth Hollis, Nicholas Salts, Austin Schmidt, Mason Nye, and Morgan Nye, and her one great-grandchild; Garrett Schmidt. Friends will be received Sunday 2-4 & 6-8PM at T.B. DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME, 806 Perry Hwy., Ross Twp. A funeral service will be held in Christ Lutheran Church on Monday 10:30AM. After high school Marge attended the University of Pittsburgh for Business where she was also employed. She worked for H.J. Heinz and Kaiser Engineers before starting her family. She later went on to do hostess and catering at the Highland Country Club, the Bantam, and several other establishments. Marge was an avid reader with a love of books. At the age of 65, she taught herself how to use the computer and the internet. She enjoyed gardening, baking, and cooking for her family. Marge was an active member of Christ Lutheran Church, AARP and assisted with the local Election Board. All who knew her knew how proud she was of her family, her children, and the special place her grandchildren held in her heart. Over the years she developed many lasting friendships and memories which she treasured. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
