Of Ross Twp., passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2026. Born July 29, 1933 in the Northside of Pittsburgh, PA, son of the late Joseph and Anna (Vegh) Schurer . Beloved husband of 61 years to the late Lois Schurer; Loving father of Janice M. Huwe and the late Kurt J. Schurer (surviving Ivania); brother of the late Eleanor Shaner, the late John Schurer, the late Anna (Wappler) Ziel, and the late Joseph Schurer; Proud grandpap of Joseph D. Huwe, John L. Huwe (Kim), Elise M. Huwe, and Joseph F. and Maria I. Schurer; great-grandpap of Samuel J. Huwe; also survived by loving nieces and nephews. Louis was a proud graduate of North Catholic High School and Carnegie Tech. He enjoyed a long career at Edgewater Steel Corp. Upon retirement, he was an active member of St. Teresa of Avila church, volunteering at countless church festivals and fish frys. Friends received Thursday 2-4 p.m. and 6 p.m. until time of service at 7:30 p.m. at DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 806 Perry Hwy., Pgh, PA 15229.
