Born on April 26, 1943, in Pittsburgh, PA, daughter of the late Frederick and Marie Ernst. Arlene was a cherished daughter, devoted wife, loving mother, and beloved grandmother.
Arlene will be lovingly remembered by her high school sweetheart and devoted husband, James “Jim” O’Friel. They met when they were 13 years old, growing up across the street from each other. Arlene was my cousin on my mother’s side and she was 13 yrs. my senior. As a young girl I admired her for her beauty and feminity and later for the truly warm and beautiful person she was. She reminded of the actress ‘Susan Lucci’ as I was growing up. She was not only beautiful but thoughtful and caring. My mother adored her and I know Arlene brought comfort to her during her last years as they talked often on the phone. I last saw her during my visit to Pittsburgh 4 years ago. I wish I could post a picture of the two of us when she visited me in 2013 at my home in Cincinnati. I will treasure that picture forever.
Rest in Peace sweet and beautiful angel!
With Deepest Sympathy.
May it comfort you to know
That your loved one
is at peace
and in the loving arms
of our Lord.
