Linda Joan Broussard Wilkes went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 26. Linda passed away peacefully at home in Cranberry Township, PA, under the careful watch of her two daughters. She was the first child of Howard and Rose Broussard, born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She grew up in a large, loving family of five sisters, Pam, Kathy, Claire, Charlotte, and Lisa, and six brothers, Donald, Cyril, Tommy, Glen, Larry, and Louis. Linda met and fell in love with her sweetheart, Will, while a student at Louisiana State University. Linda and Will welcomed two beautiful daughters, Allyson and Lindsey, and enjoyed many adventures from Louisiana to Turkey, London, Washington, DC, and New York City. Linda and Will were married for 48 years before his passing in 2021. Linda was a Catholic school educator for over 40 years, teaching English and Language Arts in Louisiana, then in Maryland at St. Mark’s School. Linda was a talented cook, baker, and cake decorator. She enjoyed needlepoint crafts and sewing, making many clothes and costumes for family members. Linda was a lover of musical theater along with her husband and daughters. Her pride and joy were her “Grandgirls,” Sophia, Clara, Amelia, and Cassandra. She will be missed by her daughters, granddaughters, sons-in-law, siblings, many nieces and nephews, and friends. Her family would like to thank the staff at Sherwood Oaks for taking such loving care of Linda in her last years.
