John Edward Martinson II

June 16, 1942 - May 10, 2021

JOHN EDWARD MARTINSON II
A resident of Mars, PA, passed away on May 10, 2021 following a lengthy illness. Born in Chicago, ILL on June 16, 1942, he resided in Florida, Georgia, and New Jersey prior to retirement in Pennsylvania. He is survived by his wife, Judy Ann (Caldwell) and his son Michael from a previous marriage. He was pre-deceased by his parents, John E and Jacqueline Martinson and his brother, William.

John Martinson received his BS degree from the University of Pittsburgh with prior studies at Georgia Tech.

A supreme salesman, his career spanned numerous IT companies, culminating with Hitachi. His customers took him to Europe, Japan, Australia, Canada and Mexico – and spanned the United States – with ever changing residential stops.

In retirement, he was retained by H&R Block to provide tax preparation services for both domestic and American off-shore clients.

His life’s journey included his passion for cooking, golfing and landscape design, installation and maintenance. And his wine cellar was a creation that many had the pleasure to enjoy.

His and Judy’s devotion to their dogs over the many years is legendary.

John was a Mason and member of the Shriners Imperial Council.

A private service for members of the family will be held at noon at the Devlin Funeral Home Cranberry, Pa. Burial will be at Sewickley Cemetery.

Anyone wishing to make a donation in John’s memory may do so to a charity of their choice.
