Dorothy Frank

June 21, 1929 - May 07, 2021

Dorothy Frank
Dorothy Patackis Frank of Pittsburgh, formally of Wilkes-Barre, went home to be with the Lord on May 7, 2021.
Born on June 21, 1929, in Wilkes-Barre she worked at the Bell Telephone Company, now Verizon, as an operator and then manager. She was so dedicated that she went to work in a motorboat during the Agnes flood of 1972.
Alongside her husband who passed in 1998, she ran a funeral home on Grant St, Wilkes-Barre and upon his passing continued to run the business on her own for 5 years.
She was a member of Holy Trinity Church, Wilkes-Barre, most of her life and was an active member of the Christian Mothers. Upon closing, she became a member of Gate of Heaven church, Dallas, when she moved in with her daughter and family. She enjoyed her time with her grandchildren and her daughter was grateful to have her there and come home to hot meals after work.
She is preceded in death by her husband John W. Frank, her brothers William and Joseph and her baby sister Irene. She is survived by her son, John W. Frank and his partner Genese Dopson of Las Vegas, NV., daughter Karen and her husband Anthony DeCesaris of Pittsburgh, PA., grandsons John W. Frank and wife Kim, Anthony DeCesaris, granddaughters Victoria Kelertas and husband Andrius and Rachel DeCesaris, and great-grandchildren Lachlan and Kieran Frank, and Wyatt Kelertas. She is also survived by her brother Raymond Patackis and his wife Rita of Harrisburg, PA., as well as several dear nephews and nieces.
Her and her husband loved to dance and looked like professionals when they did, many times spontaneously dancing in the kitchen when a favorite song came on. Now, her and her husband can do that polka once again.
There will be a mass of Christian burial on May 20, 2021 at 11:00 am at Gate of Heaven Church in Dallas with Fr. James E McGahagen officiating, a long-time dear friend of the family. There will be an interment at Bear Creek cemetery at the convenience of the family.
