Joann “Kathy” Benacquisto, age 71, passed away on July 12, 2026. Beloved wife of Daniel Benacquisto. Daughter of the late Peter and Joanna (Kulik) Wengryn. Loving mother of the late Mishelle and Lawrence Shanholtz and mother of Amanda (Matthew)Fitch. Cherished grandmother of Kelly, Natalie and Jeremy. Beloved great-grandmother of Carden, Luca and Quinn. Loving sister of Stephen (Tammy) Wengryn, Nancy (Dave) Anzur, the late Gregory L. Wengryn, and sister-in-law Amy J. Hansen. Joann worked most recently for Sisters of Divine Providence, which she loved immensely while forming friendships with the Sisters. She was previously employed at Pittsburgh Public Schools working with special needs students.
Friends will be received on Sunday, July 19, 2026 from 1-5 PM at the Devlin Funeral Home, Inc. 806 Perry Hwy., Pittsburgh, PA 15229. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, July 20, 2026, at 11 AM at Kearns Spirituality Center Visitation Chapel, 9000 Babcock Blvd, Allison Park, PA 15101.
