Dr. Eleanor Victoria Post

Eleanor “Vicki” Post passed away May 19, 2021 in Pittsburgh, PA. She was born September 1, 1936, in McAllen, Texas, to Richard and Isabel Hopkins. She graduated from Harlingen High School in 1954 and attended Baylor University in Waco, Texas. She reunited with Don Post, an old friend from her elementary school years in La Feria, Texas, in 1955, and they were married on November 27 of that year.

She is listed in the international WHO’S WHO Of Professionals, Vol. 2, 1996, p. 9:

“An esteemed Texas educator for the past 30 years at the elementary, secondary college, and graduate levels, Dr. Post now provides her expertise in a consultory manner. She conducts workshops on “accelerated learning” or “wholebrain learning” methods that apply to all learners. She was an adjunct faculty member at Sam Houston University – Huntsville, TX; Dir of Gifted and Talented at Round Rock ISD, Asst. Super for Curriculum and instruction, Comal ISD; Reading and Language Arts Coordinator, New Braunfels, TX; Curriculum Writer and teacher of gifted and talented primary students in Austin, TX. She acquired a PH.D in Curriculum and instruction in 1980; a Master’s Degree in Education from Our Lady of the Lake University, San Antonio, in 1969, and a BA in education from McMurray University, Abilene, TX in 1958.

Vicki is preceded in death by her daughter, Lenora Post Carlson, who died of cancer in 2010. She leaves behind husband, Don, a son, Darren Post of Seven Fields, PA, four grandchildren; Ben and Grace Carlson of Houston, Texas, and Aubrey and Dustin Post of Seven Fields, PA.
