Donald W. Spear, 89, of Ross Township, passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 4, 2012, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Betty (Todd) Spear for 65 years; loving father of Ken (Patti) Spear; proud grandfather of Eric, Carolyn and Megan; brother of Eugene and the late John Spear; also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and relatives. Don served in the Navy Air Corps during World War II and was employed as an account manager with AT&T Long Lines. He was a 32nd degree Mason, a Shriner and an active member of his church, serving as both an elder and a deacon. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at T.B. DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME, 806 Perry Highway, Ross Township. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Hiland Presbyterian Church, followed by interment at Allegheny County Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hiland Presbyterian Church or the American Cancer Society.
