from : Bill Dell 0r as Coleman called me Billleee Dell. Coleman sponsored our softball team 1973, 74, & 75. There was nothing he would not do for us. He came to the games & of course we went to SUNNY’s
after the games & stayed late, late. We were the only team I have ever known, & I am still playing that
had HOME & AWAY uniforms. Not the cheap stuff either. We had “Wilson” major league uniforms with stitched on numbers. Yankee pinstripes & the others were purple tops w. white pants. 0ur colors were Viking purple & gold. In 73 we made it to the finals & lost. But in 74 & 75 we were @ the top of the league. Twice beating our #1 rival in the playoffs (Capizzi’s) I still have the uniforms. I WISH I WOULD HAVE KNOWN. Last Saturday I was @ the Grove havin’ a coupe & some guy with an Irish accent kept saying Coleman this & Coleman that. I said, surely you are not speaking of Coleman Mulkerrins. He said yes. Here from Ireland for his funeral. What are the odds of that ? I TRULY LOVED THE MAN. I last saw him @ the old Shadowood Lounge in N. Hills & he yelled out as I walked in…”Billleeee Dell…..how the hell are you doing” ?? A prince of a man. Again I loved him. I’m just so sorry so many years have gone. That was probably 10 years ago. My deepest regrets . I will get the word out to the guys that are still with us. LOVE, Bill Dell
