It is with deep love and profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Carol Jean (Sapienza) Munsch, age 81, of Pittsburgh, who passed away peacefully on June 17, 2026, surrounded by hr family, after a courageous journey with vascular dementia. She will be remembered above all for her fierce love of her children, grandchildren, and family.
For more than 30 years, she poured her heart and soul into Munsch’s Old Fashioned Bakery, working alongside family and friends. Known for her magnificent baking talent and incredible dedication, she instilled a powerful work ethic and deep pride in work in her children.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and will be deeply missed by her children: her daughter Lisa (Robert) Parey, and her daughter Lori (Michael) Klein. She is also survived by her four beloved grandchildren: Hannah Parey, Sarah Parey, Wyatt Klein, and Emily Klein.
Additionally, she is survived by her loving sisters, Bunny Young and Barbara (Ron) Damer, who carried her heart through every season of life, as well as many dear nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her blended family, including Adrian (Jo) Salzer, Audrey (Don) Hazen, Raymond Munsch, Michele Munsch, Mark (Kathy) Munsch and many blended grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her beloved and devoted husband, Adrian Munsch and her cherished, loving mother, Rose Sapienza.
A celebration of her life will be held on a date yet to be determined. Â The family requests that donations be made in her honor to the Dementia Society of America.
