Albert Joseph Moletz, 84, passed away on June 20, 2026. Son of Frank and Jennie Moletz; husband of the late Rosemarie Moletz; father to Daniel Moletz, Sharon Stultz, and Lance Moletz; Pap Pap to Courtney McClelland, Zachary Moletz, Alexander Stultz; great grandfather to Caleb and Joshua McClelland; companion to Elsie Lawryk to whom he shared his final years’; brother to Fiore and the late Frank.

Al, fondly known as “Big Al” by friends and family, while hard to summarize entirely, can be described by two words: stubborn and loving. A leader within his family and the workforce (Electrical Contractor), Al was noticed when he entered a room. A man of few words—until he was a man of choice words!—Al took pride in his work and enjoyed the finer things in life. When he wasn’t working, you could find him enjoying a nice meal with those he loved or driving one of his signature yellow Corvettes.

Al also enjoyed the little things in life; especially dogs and babies. If there was a dog in the room, he’d greet them with a “hey, pup” and sneak a treat their way. If there was a baby in the room, he’d greet them with his trademark smirk and sneak cash into the front pocket of their overalls. Al was a generous grandfather and great grandfather, providing love and support for the little ones in his life with pride.
Al was a lover of the outdoors as a hunter and a fisherman. He displayed his most impressive bucks on the walls of his home, and would put Santa hats on them at Christmastime (his favorite time of year). His family always gathered around him on Christmas and he would provide the best fresh shrimp from Wholey’s and cheeses from the Strip District for Christmas Eve dinner.

If you knew Big Al, you knew there were two ways to do things: Al’s way, or the wrong way. He will be remembered lovingly for his resoluteness, big heart, and steadfast presence as dad, Pap Pap, and friend.

In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to Good Samaritan Hospice.
