KATALIN, BETTIE JO (VANWEY)
Age 90, of Franklin Park. Passed away peacefully at UPMC Passavant on Saturday, December 26, 2020. Beloved wife of the late Martin E. (Eddie) Katalin, Sr.; loving mother of Martin E. Katalin, Jr. (Ann Grende) of Big Arm, Mont.; Teri Palmer (Tom) of Helena, Mont.; and David C. Katalin of Pittsburgh; grandmother of Ryan Palmer (Dr. Jill Smolevitz) of Portland, Ore; and Devin Palmer (Hanna Leona Carretero) of Washington, D.C., and relative to many in Atchison, Kan. Bettie was proud of her children and of her grandsons’ and their partners’ accomplishments. Special thanks to Lisa and Ken Vecenie for their love and support; also thanks to the friends and neighbors of The Meadows of Stonebrook Village and to Bettie’s weekly bridge-gathering friends. Bettie was employed for 25 years by Dr. Robert Ford, Allison Park Obstetrics & Gynecology, and was a longtime member of St. John Neumann Parish Catholic Church. Bettie will always be remembered for her kindness, friendships, and delicious meals lovingly served. No visitation. Memorial Mass of Christian burial will be private due to Covid-19 restrictions. In lieu of flowers, contributions to The Disabled Veteran’s of America.
