COUNTOURIS ANDREW “ANDY”
Of Ross Twp., on Monday, August 27, 2012. He leaves his wife of 53 years, Joyce; his son, Mark of Zelienople; his daughter, Lisa (Lon) Hildebrand of North Hills; his son, Peter of North Hills and his son, Spiro (Mary Ellen) of New Wilmington; also grandchildren, Andrew and Emily Hildebrand and Michael and Maxwell Countouris; also his brother, Louis (Phyllis). Andy was born on the beautiful island of Kefalonia, Greece. He was 14 years old when he came to the United States after WWII. He was a field service representative for John Bean Automotive for over 45 years. He was well known in the tri-state area by many car dealerships, independent garages, and automotive repair shops for his work ethic and customer relations. One of his favorite old customers described him best when he said, “I loved the guy from the first time I met him. His integrity, honesty and humility are a thing of the past.” His favorite pastimes in addition to spending time with his family were enjoying many rounds of golf and many games of gin and pinochle with his friends at Highland Country Club and elsewhere. He was an Army veteran who served his country during the Korean conflict. He was a member of West View Kiwanis for many years. He is a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jerry and Marika and his brother, Spiros. Visitation Thursday 2-4, 6-8 p.m. at T.B. DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME, 806 Perry Hwy., North Hills. Trisagion Thursday at 7:00 p.m. Additional visitation Friday at St. George Chapel, Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cemetery, Friday at 10:00 a.m., followed by Funeral Service at 10:30 a.m. Interment in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church Building Fund, 495 Browns Lane, Pittsburgh, PA 15237.
