William “Koke” Kohut

William “Koke” Kohut
Age 98, of Freedom, formerly of Troy Hill, and Perrysville, passed away on Friday, March 5, 2021. Born January 14, 1923, son of the late George Kohut Sr., and Anna (Satnik) Kohut.

William is survived by his wife of 62 years, Patricia (Hepp) Kohut; daughters, Kimberly (John) Mares, Linda (Ronald) Roth, Jill Bucior, and Tracy Kohut; seven grandchildren, John III, Crystal, Amber, Amanda, Samantha, Christina, and Mei Li. He is also survived by two great-grandchildren, Kayla, and Braelynn. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Verna Suttle, George Jr., Edward, Marion, Martha, and Michael.

William graduated from Oliver High School, and later retired from J & L Steel. He proudly served our country in the United States Navy in WWII. He was an avid sports fan, and loved his Pittsburgh Penguins. Before the Penguins, they were called the Pittsburgh Hornets, and he served as the President of their Booster Club. He was also a member of St. Ferdinand Parish.

In his later years, he enjoyed woodworking, and feeding all the little wildlife that came to visit. He loved life, and everyone he met was a friend.

Family and friends are welcome Friday from 10-10:50 am at Devlin Funeral Home of Cranberry, 2678 Rochester Road, Cranberry Twp. A Blessing Service will be held at 11am at the funeral home with Rev. John Gallagher celebrating. Interment will be held at The National Cemetery of The Alleghenies with full Military Honors.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in Williams name to Disabled Americans Veterans, or Angel Eyes Farm Rescue, 848 PA-989, Freedom PA 15042
