William George “Buck” Lorey, 66, of Pittsburgh passed away on September 28, 2023. Son of the late Gerald and Eileen Lorey; and loving partner for over 25 years to the late Mary Ann Markle.  He is survived by his cousins Kathy (Garland) Bankard, Denise (Garland) Robinson, and Lisa (Garland) Marshall who were much like his sisters when they were growing up.  He is also survived by his many friends including those at Jim Shorkey North Hills Toyota where he worked for 15 years.  Buck enjoyed boating on the three rivers and spent time with the river safety patrol where, in addition to securing the area around PNC Park on fireworks nights, he was proud to be part of the escort team for the giant rubber duck that sailed into Pittsburgh in 2013.  He also loved German Shepherds and had several as pets that were his faithful companions over the years.  Friends will be received Monday, October 9th from 6-8 PM and Tuesday, October 10th from 10-11 AM at Devlin Funeral Home, 806 Perry Highway, Pittsburgh, PA. Blessing service will be held on Tuesday at 11 AM at the funeral home.

I am so saddened by hearing that Buck passed. I have been cutting his hair for many years and will miss his sense of humor when I try to talk him into letting me give him new styles. May he rest in peace.
