William D Gruca,
Age 84 of Cranberry Township, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 6th, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on August 10th, 1939, in Pittsburgh, son of the late Walter and Anna Gruca. He was an active Boys Club member and an honor student. At age of 12 years old he became Lawrenceville Pupil ‘Boy of Year’ and was in the local newspaper. He also was enlisted in the U.S Army working as a mail clerk.
He worked as a graphic designer and retired working at Electric Boat building submarines.
Bill was a devoted Husband and an active member of the Divine Grace Parish, St. Ferdinand Church.
He enjoyed many things in life, some hobbies included fishing, playing ping pong, playing a saxophone in his band The Fantastics, listening to music, and he loved cooking for everyone especially his wife.
Bill was survived by his loving wife Carol Gruca, loving father of Patricia (Herb Pefferman) Ober, Susan (Abdullah) Al-Lozi, Rob (Candy) Wooster, and Lori (Michael) Halbleib. Pappy of Jessica (Jason) Hammel, Kara (Fred IV) Siciliano, Sara Al-Lozi, Isha (Jason) Nguyen, Julia Wooster, Ty Halbleib, Amarra Halbleib, Rachel Halbleib, and Logan Halbleib. Great Pappy to Tyler Nguyen, Braden Nguyen, Zack Nguyen, Colton Ferbezar, Levi Kaufman, Cora Hammel, Eva Siciliano, Lucy Siciliano and Noah Schmitt. Brother of Howard Valetto, Maryanna (John)Misencik, late Richard (Connie) Gruca, late Robert (Pat) Gruca, and late Dolly Chavez. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, friends and family.
Family and friends are welcome on Sunday from 2-6 pm, and Monday from 2-4, 6-8 pm at Devlin Funeral Home of Cranberry Township, 2678 Rochester Road, Cranberry Township. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday at 10 am at Divine Grace Parish, St. Ferdinand Church. Interment will follow at Mount Royal Cemetery.
