Robert M. Ando, Sr., of Adams Township, passed away peacefully on June 4, 2024. Born on August 1, 1943, in McKeesport, PA, he was the son of the late William and Helen(Banyasz) Ando.
Bob was the cherished husband of 58 years to Micheleen L. (Bachofsky) Ando. He was a loving father to Kristine Allen (Rob) and Robert M. Ando, Jr. (Laura), and a proud grandfather to Madison Allen (Jim Hansen), Mackenzie Allen, Olivia Ando, and Brett Ando.
Bob dedicated 25 years of his life to serving as a Pennsylvania State Trooper. Before his law enforcement career, he served in the United States Air Force. Known for his generosity, Bob was always willing to lend a hand or share a drink with friends. He treasured moments spent around his bar and jukebox with family and friends. Family summer vacations to the beach were among his happiest times, and he was known as the life of the party, always making jokes followed by his infectious laughter. Bob had a deep appreciation for a good hunky meal and took excellent care of his parents in their golden years.
He was immensely proud of his children and grandchildren, especially enjoying watching them play sports. Bob was also a beloved cousin and friend to many. In his honor, have a beer and raise a glass to celebrate his life.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Thursday, June 13, from 4 – 8 PM at Devlin Funeral Home of Cranberry, 2678 Rochester Road, Cranberry Township, PA 16066. A blessing service will be held on Friday, June 14, at 11:00 AM at the same location.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
Bob’s legacy of love and generosity will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Dear Mike, Kris and Bobby, we are so sorry for your loss. We always remember what good friends we were and what fun we had on Lawrence Ave. in your basement and our bar. And we learned to eat that good Hunky food from Bob and of course Mike too. Our vacations to the beach every summer were the highlight of our year! Who can ever forget Hitch Apartments. You have our deepest sympathy and may the memory of your Dad and husband always bring a smile to your face. He will be sorely missed!
Love Sandy and Rick

Micheleen, Kris, Bobby and families,
I’m devastated over your loss. Bob was a fun, loving and caring cousin. My memories are so fond of our youth which developed and grew stronger throughout our lives. Our family cookouts on Savey St., house parties, living next door, he and Micheleen babysitting us, church picnics, the Hungarian Club, my summer vacation in Girard when Kris was an infant, watching Bobby play HS football and many more were great times. We all enjoyed hanging out together, Randy, Bob, Micheleen and myself into adulthood are some of my fondest memories. He will always remain in my heart and will truly be missed. You are all in my heart, always.
Love,
Becky
