Age 94, of the Town of McCandless, peacefully and surrounded by his family on Monday, April 10, 2017. Beloved husband for 66 years of Phyllis (Marasco); loving father of Thomas Moraca, Jean Wagner, Nancy Walchack, and Cheryl Moraca; proud grandfather of eight and great-grandfather of four; brother of Mario Moraca, the late Sarah Berardelli, and the late Domenica Mendicini. Virgil emigrated from Italy at the age of 13. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He then went on to learn his trade in shoe repair and opened his own business, Virgil’s Shoe Repair. Most importantly, he met the love of his life, Phyllis, and they married in 1950. His smile was illuminating, his charm was undeniable, and his laugh was infectious. When he talked about his family, he lit up with pride. Friends and family will be received Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 806 Perry Hwy., Ross Twp. A Mass of Christian Burial will be in St. Alexis Church on Wednesday at 10 a.m.
