Vincent Joseph Plocido Sr.

Age 94, of Cranberry Twp., passed away on Saturday, May 1, 2021. Born January 15, 1927, son of the late Menigi, and Rosaria (Gentile) Plocido. Beloved husband of Rose (Gualtieri) Plocido, whom he married on June 24, 1950; loving father of Vincent J. Plocido Jr. (Peggy); dear pap of Sherry (William), Laura (Willard), Vincent M. (Leigh); great-grandfather of Logan, Landon, Amelia, and Margo. Vincent is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, John, Samuel and Nick Plocido; sisters, Carmella, Mary, Rose, and Josephine.

Mr. Plocido was raised on Pittsburgh’s North Side, before moving to Ross Twp., and later in life Cranberry Twp. He selflessly served our country in the Asiatic Pacific Theater during WWII from October 1945, until his honorable discharge in November of 1946.

He worked for the Screw and Bolt Company, Pittsburgh Railways, and the State Correctional Institution, where he retired after 30 years. Vincent was very active in the Greentree American Legion, and was a member of St. Ferdinand Church.

Family and friends are welcome on Monday from 6-8, and Tuesday from 2-4, 6-8 pm at Devlin Funeral Home of Cranberry, 2678 Rochester Road, Cranberry Twp. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday at 10 am at St. Ferdinand Church. Entombment will follow with Military Honors at North Side Catholic Cemetery.
