Theresa M. Velicoff, 90, of Cranberry, was born June 15, 1934 in Blawnox, Pa, and passed away on November 4, 2024. Daughter of the late Andrew and Mary Urbonick; wife to James Velicoff; mother to Lynn (Roy) Seneca, Teri (Gary) Choban, Jamie Codispot, Andrew Velicoff, and the late Kathy (James) Stienstraw; Grandmother to Carly (Kerry), Shelby, Adelee (Aaron), Ella(Matt), Lindsay (Zach), Gavin, Caitlyn, Kasey, and James; Great Grandmother to Adrian, Sister to Elizabeth (Bob) Jaros; Twin sister to the late Mary Ann (Bud) Korinek; Sister to the late Jenny (Charles) Shorts, and Sister-in -law to Jim (the late June) Biel; Aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Theresa enjoyed a long life, devoted to her husband James for 66 years, raising five children at a beautiful homestead in Wexford, Pa, where she and her husband hosted many festive picnic celebrations.
She was a caring nurse from the young age of 21 all the way until she was 83, working at various hospitals and nursing homes in the Pittsburgh area. She finally retired from Verland Foundation for the Mentally Challenged in Sewickley, Pa, where she cherished working with the mentally challenged patients.
Holiday gatherings – including her 90th birthday celebration last June – were special for “Grammy,” as her grandchildren called her. She just loved when her sisters, children and grandchildren were around to join her in many hands of the card game “Zinecheck.” She was a loving Grammy, known for bringing hugs, smiles and laughter to her grandchildren.
She also enjoyed working crosswords, making jigsaw puzzles, reading novels and rooting for her Steelers and Pirates. After complications from a stroke in late June, she is now in a better place. We will miss her dearly.
