Theresa M. (Lukitsch/Schnalzer), of Franklin Park, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 31, 2025. She was the widow of the late Kenneth J. Dorn, to whom she was married for 47 years at the time of his passing. Born in Bethlehem, PA, she was the daughter of the late John and Cecelia (Schlener) Schnalzer. She was also the daughter of the late Charles and Sophia (Schnalzer), who raised her from infancy in Pittsburgh. After graduating from high school, she went to work for the Pittsburgh Sun-Telegraph as a secretary and then worked in the circulation department of the Pittsburgh Post Gazette until she married. After raising their family Theresa rejoined the workforce as a secretary for her husband’s law practice until retirement.
Theresa was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She will be lovingly remembered by her family: her daughter, Stephanie Angelos, and her husband, Bill; her sons, Kenneth G. Dorn, and his wife, Sarah, and Michael Dorn, and his wife, Malissa; grandchildren Will, Lauren, Kiersten (Angelos), Samantha, Kenny, Michael, Cole and Henry (Dorn); two great-grandchildren, Mia and Jack (Angelos); and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Theresa was preceded in death by her brothers Carl Lukitsch, Walter Lukitsch, Leo Schnalzer, Joseph Schnalzer, Rudolph Schnalzer, Edward Schnalzer; and sisters Faye (Lukitsch)Holzhauser, Marie (Lukitsch) Shelbaugh, Stella (Schnalzer) Duggan, Cecelia Schnalzer, and Margaret (Schnalzer) Beier.
Friends will be received on Friday from 2-4 & 6-8PM at DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME, INC. 806 Perry Hwy., Pgh, PA 15229. A Mass of Christian Burial will be in St. John Neumann Church (Regina Coeli Parish) on Saturday 11AM, 2230 Rochester Rd., Pgh, PA 15237. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
