Hergenroeder
Sarah (Duncan) “Sally”

Of Ross Twp., on Monday, November 25, 2024; wife of the late Lloyd Hergenroeder; Loving mother of James L. Hergenroeder and his wife Beth and Jeffery G. Hergenroeder and Dar; also survived by four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Friends received Saturday 9:30 to 11:30am at Devlin Funeral Home, 806 Perry Hwy., Ross Twp., where services will be held at 11:30.

Sally was born in Desloge, Missouri on 10/10/1935 and in her early years taught Home Education and Drivers Ed in the public schools in the Belleville IL area. The family moved to the North Hills of Pittsburgh in 1969 where Sally offered her time to the Berkely Hills Lutheran Church and more recently to St. John’s Lutheran Church. She enjoyed helping people and volunteered at the Northland Library, Living in Liberty, and various other charities. Sally and Lloyd loved weekends spent on the Allegheny River where they kept a summer home and later in life enjoyed travelling the country in their RV. I think there were only two states they didn’t traverse in their travels. Eventually their travel was limited to getting out of the snow and wintering in Naples. Florida.

Memorial contributions may be made to Living in Liberty.

Sally was also active in the McKnight Village community and a longtime volunteer at the McKnight Women’s Club. I have many photos of her helping out at various events. She and Lloyd were famous in McKnight Village for throwing great parties. In 2006, the McKnight Women’s club honored Sally by naming her a Diamond Club Member, which is a special honor bestowed by the McKnight Women’s Club for a lifetime of dedication and being a committed citizen who has positively changed the world. She was a very special lady!
