Many loving nieces & nephew

Rose was born and raised by her Hungarian immigrant parents on their family farm in Bairdford, Pennsylvania. She often spoke fondly of the wonderful memories of growing up in the country and her one room schoolhouse education. Her family moved to the city of Pittsburgh after she graduated from high school, where she pursued a career in the legal field, as a legal secretary. While working as a legal secretary, she went to night school at Duquesne University to pursue a legal degree. She often joked to not debate with her, because she had a legal background. Rightly so. Rose moved on from her job as a legal secretary, to the secretarial pool at J & L Steel. She didn’t last long there, as she was the fastest and most accurate typist. The president quickly picked her up as his secretary. With him, they put together the secretarial handbook for the company in the 1950s. Rose loved her family more than anything. Her nature was calm and loving, but she was always ready for a good debate. She spent her afternoons preparing nightly, gourmet meals, many of which were Hungarian delicacies.
Our hearts are heavy as we share the news of our mother & grandmother’s passing. We are comforted in knowing that she departed this world peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.

Friends will be received Wednesday July 5th from 4-7 PM at Devlin Funeral Home, 806 Perry Hwy. Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday at 10 AM at St. Sebastian Church, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish.
