Age 88, of Ross Twp., on Thursday, November 12, 2015; Beloved husband for 64 years of Rose Mary (Hunkele) Rau; Loving father of Robert Rau (Peggy), Deborah Cleary (Thomas), Jeffrey Rau (Natasha), Larry Rau (Barbara), Shawn Rau, Elaine Newborn (David), Gerard Rau, Stephen Rau (Nika), and David Rau; Proud grandfather of 17 and great-grandfather of 23; Brother of Mary Trant and the late Paul Rau, Bernice Burke, and Oscar Rau. A 1944 graduate of North Catholic H.S., Bob proudly served his country in the US Army during World War II. After being honorably discharged, he went on to the University of Pittsburgh graduating with honors with a degree in mechanical engineering. Bob travelled all over the world during his 40 year career with Aetna Standard. He loved to design and build, both professionally and for his children and grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday November 21st at 10AM in St. Teresa of Avila Church, 1000 Avila Ct., Pgh, PA 15237. Everyone please meet at church.
