Robert J. Gillenberger, Sr.

Age 65 of Cranberry Township passed away suddenly on Saturday May 9, 2020. Born December 19, 1954, son of Marlene and the late Vernon Gillenberger, Sr; beloved husband and best friend of Susan Gillenberger, whom he married on March 27, 1976; loving father of Robert Gillenberger, Jr. and Kristy Egnac; Pappy of Blake; dear brother of Vernon (Carrie) Gillenberger, Jr. and the late David and Kevin Gillenberger.

Robert was an accomplished business owner of Vern’s Electric Inc, located in Pittsburgh, PA with his brother Vernon. Grandfather to Blake Egnac who he enjoyed spending every chance he could and loved dearly. His wife Susan and best friend as he would call her, spent many happy years together and truly were soulmates.

Due to our Nation’s current pandemic situation, private Family services were held. Entombment took place at North Side Catholic Cemetery.

A public gathering of family and friends to celebrate Robert’s life will be held at Vern’s Electric located at 1917 Brownsville Road- Second Floor on Saturday May 23, 2020 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Guests are encouraged to attend between these hours at their leisure to comply with CDC and Allegheny County Health limitations.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Robert’s name to St Jude Children’s Hospital or The American Heart Association.
