Robert H. (Bob) Nachazel Jr., 68, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 22, 2025, at UPMC Mercy Hospital.
Bob was born on September 14, 1957, in Toledo, Ohio, the son of the late Bob and Cass (Dawson) Nachazel. He was also preceded in death by his stepmother, Jeri Nachazel, and his sister, Grace Hines.
He is survived by his former wife, Kathleen Nachazel; his sons, Nathan (Carlianna) Nachazel and Zech Nachazel (with girlfriend Olivia Brendel); his sisters, Shannon Tise, Mary Pat (Neil) Witmer, Katie Kinsey (Chris Cogdill), and Gretchen Nachazel (Nicole Fenech); his sister-in-law, Cheryl (Ralph) Brinkman; his brother-in-law, Thomas (Junjimi) McBride; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A devoted and loving father, Bob was deeply involved in the lives of his two sons. He was their biggest supporter, cheering them on through countless games and matches. Known and loved by many in the stands, his presence was a constant source of encouragement and pride.
Bob had a lifelong passion for sales, with a career spanning over 40 years in the industrial chemical industry. He was dedicated to cultivating strong relationships with clients and partners, driving growth through thoughtful strategy and an unwavering work ethic. His knowledge, professionalism, and genuine care for others set him apart in his field.
An avid skier, Bob had a deep love for winter. His excitement was contagious—he often counted down the days to ski season, sharing his enthusiasm with friends and family alike. He embodied a zest for life and a passion for all things cold.
Bob also found peace and belonging at St. John Neumann Church, where he served faithfully as an usher for many years.
He will be remembered for his kindness, his commitment to family, and his joyful spirit.
Family and friends are welcome on Thursday from 4-7 pm at Devlin Funeral Home, 806 Perry Hwy, North Hills. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at 1 pm at Regina Coeli Parish, St. John Neumann Church.
Bob was my fav ski buddy at Seven Springs. Although I hadn’t been back for a few years, Bob and I kept in touch… Unusual for most except for Bob. I will remember his wit, his zeal, and his friendship.
R. H. Nachazel you will be sorely missed & when we attend the Tigers game in September your seat will remain vacant, but consumed by your everlasting joyous spirit. I will always remember the days from the La Jola Beach Volleyball club to the countless thousands of leg burning mogul runs we have made over the past 40 years. However, the introduction to your favorite musician Walkin’ Jim Stolfz will haunt me to end, but provide the memories of a great friend. Love ya man & you will always be remembered.
Ski ya later!
Gone too soon. You will be missed by many in so many ways. R.I.P. Uncle Bobby
Thoughts and prayers for Bob and his family it was a pleasure to know Bob ! To Nathan my heart goes out to you in this difficult and sad time ! He was and is so proud of you ! Me too !
I’m so shocked and saddened when learning of Bobs passing. Bob and I were best friends in high school days. We always found something fun and crazy to do. Whenever I think of him, I always smiled, and often wondered how he was. I know Bob was a guy who always went out of his way to put a smile on everyone’s face I’m sure Bob is in heaven now, and our world will miss his presence. Prayers to Bobs family.
