Peter W. “Coach Pete” Amurgis of Ross Twp., on Saturday, April 14, 2018. Beloved husband of 63 years to Rosemary (Bergman) Amurgis; loving father of Michelle M. Kotchey (David), Glenn A. Amurgis, Charles W. Amurgis (Nancy), Mariann “Mimi” Chahoy (Mike) and his late infant son, Peter Amurgis; brother of Anthony Amurgis, Electra Roman, Victor Amurgis and the late Emanuel Amurgis; proud grandfather of Gregg Kotchey, Jaclyn Amurgis, Charles Amurgis, Michael Chahoy and the late Nicole Kotchey. Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Devlin Funeral Home, INC., 806 Perry Hwy., North Hills. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Sebastian Church Tuesday 10 a.m. in lieu of flowers, contributions to Catholic Charities or St. Sebastian Church.

Mickey, Dave and Gregg , Tex and I are so sorry for your loss. It is unfortunate that we are unable to come to the funeral due to my illness. We would be there for support if it was possible. Your father was a wonderful and kind man. Again we are sorry for the loss of your father may he R.I.P. If you would need anything at all we are here for you.

Coach Pete was a great man and a great mentor to so many young baseball players. When my son, one of those baseball players, was going through some troubled times he told me that he and his wife had lit some candles for him. That was so touching, so special.
He will be sadly missed. but has left an unforgettable legacy behind.
I hope his family can find comfort in that legacy as they deal with is loss.
