I was going down memory lane on the internet, and came across Mr. Minnock’s obituary. I met him in 1993 when I was looking for my first apartment, and he rented me the top back unit at 3029 Brereton Street in Polish Hill, PA for only $250 a month. I ended up living there for seven years. He was always a very kind man when I spoke to him on the phone or when he would come by to check on his property. When I would ask him if I could make inside improvements to the unit I was in, the answer was always “yes”, because he would always say how glad he was to have someone renting one of his units who wasn’t trying to cause damage before they moved out. If I hadn’t gotten the opportunity to move to another state to be with family, I probably would have been renting that unit from him for many more years, because Mr. Minnock was a great landlord! RIP.
