Pasquale E Berardelli
Age 95, of McCandless Twp., passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 13, 2019, surrounded by his loving family. Son of the late Angelo and Maria (Chieffallo) Berardelli; beloved husband for nearly 60 years of the late Sarah (Moraca) Berardelli who passed away on November 12, 2008; loving and devoted father of Richard (Joy) Berardelli, Robert (Mary Lou) Berardelli, Linda (Bert) Smith, John Berardelli, and Carol (Scott) Whitacre; proud grandfather of 17, and great-grandfather of soon-to-be 12.
Pasquale was born June 9, 1923 in Calabria, Italy, served in the Italian army, migrated to America in 1947, married his only love in 1949, and together later became US Citizens and raised five blessed and grateful children. He worked in several job areas over the years—including as a steel machinist for 20 years and as sole proprietor of his shoe repair shop in Beaver for seven years before retirement. He worked very hard and with great pride and dedication to provide for his family, his top priority. His life was a testament to his belief that most important were love of family, love of God, and gratitude to God for the many blessings he enjoyed. He will be remembered as a simple, quiet, selfless, faith-filled man with a big heart and unique sense of humor—who enjoyed the simple pleasures of home: the company of family and friends, sharing a meal, and lending a helping hand in any way he could.
With broken hearts, we mourn his passing and the end of a remarkable era. While we will miss him terribly, we celebrate his long and full life, and the wonderful, loving, caring man he was. We thank God for how he blessed our lives, and we forever treasure our beautiful memories.
Friends and family will be received on Monday, January 21, 2019, from 2-4, 6-8, at Devlin Funeral Home Inc., 806 Perry Highway, Pittsburgh 15229. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, January 22, 2019, at 10am at St. John Neumann Church, 2230 Rochester Road, Pittsburgh 15237. Entombment will follow in Allegheny County Memorial Park.
