Miles Stanley Baldwin, 90, of Freedom, died Monday, Jan. 30, 2012. Stan was born Dec. 20, 1921, in St. Louis, Mo., son of the late Arthur Taylor Baldwin and the late Anna May (Dougherty) Baldwin. He was the beloved husband of 65 years to Dorothy (Lampe) Baldwin; loving father of Donna (Daniel) MacDonald, Stephen (Joyce) Baldwin, John (Shirley) Baldwin, Daniel Baldwin, David (Annette) Baldwin, Brian (Nancy) Baldwin and Mary (John) Ciccone; cherished grandfather of 16 and loving great-grandfather of nine. Stan was a decorated World War II veteran, earning the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Air Medal with three Oak Clusters. He served in the 8th Air Corps as a navigator of B-24s, serving in Europe. He worked for 35 years as an electrical engineer for Westinghouse Electrical Corporation. He was a member of Tau Beta Pi, honorary engineering fraternity, and a life fellow of IEEE (Institute of Electrical Electronics Engineers). The family will welcome friends from 5 to 9 p.m.Thursday at DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME OF CRANBERRY, 2678 Rochester Road, Cranberry Township, PA 16066. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Ferdinand Catholic Church, 2535 Rochester Road, Cranberry Township, PA 16066. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to the St. Vincent De Paul Society of St. Ferdinand’s Church or Building Fund of St. Ferdinand’s Church.
