Mary Joanne (Collins) Myers, lovingly known as Joanne, 90, of Ross Township, PA, Summit, NJ and Scottsdale, AZ died peacefully in Scottsdale, AZ with her children by her side Wednesday, Oct. 11th, 2023. Loving wife for 61 years to the late Philip J. Myers, adored mother to Philip (Diane), Michelle, Kevin (Wendy), Mary (died in infancy), Mary Elizabeth (Matt) Johnson, Sean (Amy) and Maggie (Aaron) Songer. Joanne will be sadly missed by her 16 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren, each of whom had a special relationship with their grandmother. Joanne will join her cherished parents Mary (Patton) and Dennis Collins, late sisters Margaret, Sara, Rosemary, Maureen and her late brothers Michael, Dennis, James and John in heaven. Born in the West End, Joanne went to St. James High School in Pittsburgh. She met Phil, her husband-to-be in the school play and they married in 1957; 7 children followed. Joanne’s light burned brightly and was shared generously throughout her life. She had the gift of being a natural nurturer to her children and was present to welcome every grandchild into this world. She was a voracious reader and a gifted writer. Her love of faith and family were always front and center in her life. Her later years were spent as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Sebastian Parish with her husband Phil. She was our teacher and mentor; her gentle wisdom grew with each decade of life and was greatly appreciated by friends and family. She was our matriarch and is held so closely in all of our hearts. Her style was pure elegance till the end. Her laughter and giggles are sounds we will miss. She was the keeper of our family memories which will now live on in us. We will carry her essence in our eternal family flame.
The family would like to thank the staff at Eckstein Center, Hospice of the Valley in Scottsdale AZ for their gentle loving care of her during her final days.

My mom aka Dodo named me after her very best friend.what a lovely woman Joanne was. My sincere condolences to the family. She will be missed by all.
