Service: Mass of Christian Burial Saturday at 10 AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish-St. Teresa of Avila Church.


Mary Ellen Ploeger (Donaghue), 90, of Ross Township, died Tuesday, December 26, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.
Pre-deceased by her loving husband of 51 years, John F. Ploeger, Mary Ellen was the mother of Rosemary and Ken Ziolkowski; Elizabeth and Keith Coveney and John “Jake” and Abbey Ploeger.
Born in Shenandoah, PA and raised in West View, Mary Ellen was a graduate of Our Lady of Mercy Academy and Chatham University. Mary Ellen was an elementary school teacher and after raising her three children, returned to work as a realtor. Mary Ellen was past president of Christ Child Society of Pittsburgh and was a long time member of the St Teresa of Avila Choir. She was preceded in death by her two sisters, Jean Katarincic and Rosanne Grogan. In addition to her three children, Mary Ellen is survived by 12 grandchildren, Ben and Allie Ziolkowski, Amanda (Paul), Stephen (Julie), Sam, Jack, Olivia, Sophia and Julianna Coveney, Brody, Serena and Anderson Ploeger and one great grandson, Nico Baccala.
Friends will be received Friday December 29 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at Devlin Funeral Home, 806 Perry Highway, North Hills. Mass of Christian Burial Saturday at 10 AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish-St. Teresa of Avila Church.
