Martha Julia Rubino

July 08, 1932 - December 28, 2025

Mrs. Martha Rubino, age 93, passed away on December 28, 2025.

Martha was born in Pittsburgh, PA to beloved parents, William and Philomena Amicone. She had two sisters that she cherished, Mary and Gerrie. She went on to marry her sweetheart, Michael Rubino Sr. on June 11, 1955 in Regina Coeli Catholic Church. They were married for 56 years. She was blessed with two children a son, Michael Rubino Jr., and a daughter, Michelle (David) Curtis. She was thrilled to welcome her grandchildren, that she adored, Matthew (Carla) Curtis and Mario Rubino. This year she was elated to become a great grandmother to her precious Nico Curtis where she continued to demonstrate her gift as the baby whisperer.

Martha was the epitome of elegance, grace, and compassion. She was more beautiful a person on the inside than was readily apparent on the outside. She loved her family with all her heart and treasured her many friendships. People were drawn to Martha as her genuineness and sincerity were felt by all who knew her.

Martha was ahead of her time in many ways. She worked her entire life and successfully ran the financial operations of the company she shared with her husband, Rubino Produce, a cornerstone of the Pittsburgh Strip District. Additionally, she became an operator, manager, teacher, state board examiner, and contributor to the Pennsylvania state laws for cosmetology.

Martha was preceded in death by her loving husband, Michael Rubino Sr., her parents, William and Philomena Amicone, and her sisters, Mary and Gerrie Amelio. For her children that remain, we are better people for having been loved by such an extraordinary mother. While we deeply mourn our loss, we cherish the thought of knowing that our parents are together again along with her parents and sisters.

Services for Martha Rubino will be conducted privately at a later date.

Donations to the American Arthritis Foundation and the American Cancer Society in Martha’s memory are welcome.
