LaVerne Marie Scott – Age 91, of Ross Twp., peacefully in the loving arms of her devoted and caring family on Nov. 10, 2018. Born August 8, 1927, daughter of the late William and Emma Hilderhoff. Beloved wife of 65 years to Francis Scott, whom cared for her through her many years of illness; loving mother of Deborah (Robert) Herrle, Ronald (Carol) Scott and Glenn (Joy) Scott; caring grandmother of Dr. Scott (Christina) Herrle, Tracey (Robert) Rossi, and Samantha Scott; loving nana to 4 great-grandchildren, Gianna, Ryan, Rosalynn, and Evalynn. Also survived by her brother Edward (Sally) Hilderhoff, who she cherished, and her forever friends, Jane Zeitler, Marlene Cernansky, and Lois Stark. She was preceded in death by her sister, Evelyn (Robert) Schilling, and brothers, Robert (Thelma), Donald, William, and James Hilderhoff. LaVerne was homemaker who loved bowling, cooking , cleaning an making lasting memories for those who loved her. Funeral Services will be celebrated Wednesday at 11 am at Devlin Funeral Home, 806 Perry Hwy., North Hills, officiated by Pastor Don Headley. Entombment will follow in Allegheny County Memorial Park. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Concordia at Rebecca Residence and Good Samaritan Hospice for the kind and compassionate care of their mother. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Judes Children’s Hospital.
