Karen M. Young, a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, was born on May 12, 1951, in Pittsburgh, PA, daughter of the late Elmer and Dorothy Schweitzer. She was a vibrant spirit who touched the lives of everyone around her. Karen passed away peacefully on November 10, 2025, in her cherished home in Zelienople, PA, at the age of 74.
Karen was a devoted wife to her husband, Douglas Young, whom she married on June 17, 1972. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. As a proud mother, she nurtured and encouraged her sons, Christopher (Brandy) and Daniel (Faunna), instilling in them the values of kindness and perseverance. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Austin, Brady, Maylei, and Lilah, who brought her immense joy and laughter.
Family and friends are welcome on Sunday from 2-6 pm at Devlin Funeral Home of Cranberry Township, 2678 Rochester Road, Cranberry Township.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in Karen’s name to an animal shelter of the donor’s choice.

Karen was a wonderful aunt who was full of love and kindness. I have so many found memories as a child spending time with her. She is forever in my heart and in my cherished memories. My deepest sympathies go to my Uncle Doug and cousins. She will be missed dearly, but never forgotten. My love goes to you all.
