Joseph Ujhazy, Jr.

Age 84, of McCandless, formerly of the Ward on Pittsburgh’s North Side, on Thursday, March 31, 2016. Son of the late Joseph, Sr. and Emma Ujhazy; brother of Rudolph Ujhazy (Lucille), Margaret McDonough, Helen Yendell, Frances Ujhazy, and the late Milton Uhjazy and William Uhjazy (survived by his wife, Gail). Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Friends received Saturday from 6-8 PM and Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 806 Perry Hwy., North Hills. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Peter’s Church, Monday at 9:30 AM. Joe’s nephew, Father Jim McDonough, will be celebrating. Joe graduated from St. Peter’s Grade School, the Allegheny Vocational High School, and the New York Institute of Photography. He also attended Wheeling Jesuit College. Joe was a Korean War era veteran, where he served as a medic and Chaplains assistant in the US Army. He retired from the Veteran’s Administration Hospital in Oakland. Joe was a devout Catholic and a lifelong member of St. Peter’s Church.
