John Fancher

John Marcus Fancher was born on June 1, 1931 in Oswego, New York to the late Lora Moore Fancher and the late Ernest C Fancher. He passed away at age 87 on November 7, 2018 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. John graduated from Clarkson University in Potsdam, New York in 1954. From 1954 to 1956 he served in the Army Corps Of Engineers. After his army service he was employed by Dravo Corporation for 25 years. He also worked as a project manager for Walbridge Aldinger in Detroit until he retired in 1998. John was the loving husband of Joan Gregory Fancher whom he married on June 19, 1954 in Herkimer, New York. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Betsy; and sister, Margery Fancher Daly. John is survived by his daughters, Barbara Fancher Jones, Laura, and Kristin; brother, Robert; grandchild, Brenna Leslie Jones; and son in law Leslie Jones. His ashes will be laid to rest in Allegheny County Memorial Park next to his beloved daughter who died in June.
