John F. Jarvis of Adams Township, formerly of Ross Township, on Thursday May 7, 2020. Born December 27, 1932 in the North Side of Pittsburgh. Son of the late John Ignatius Jarvis and Barbara Genevieve (Nolan) Jarvis. Beloved husband of 62 years to Gretchen (Metz) Jarvis. Loving father of Lisa J. Devine (Robert), Keith J. Jarvis (Stacy Brown) and Paul F. Jarvis (Beth). Brother of the late William J. Jarvis and Barbara Griffith. Proud grandfather of Andrew, Jack, Ryan and Maeve Jarvis and Derek Devine. John was employed by and retired from Bell Telephone Company later Verizon after 38 and 1⁄2 years of service. He wintered in Naples Florida with his wife Gretchen for 22 years before a stroke in June of 2016 limited his mobility. Due to the Coronavirus situation a memorial mass at St. Ferdinand Church will be scheduled at a later date. In lieu of flowers family requests donations be made to Little Sisters of the Poor 1028 Benton Ave Pittsburgh, Pa 15212.
