On April 6, 2006, age 79, of the North Hills; beloved husband of Anna Marie (Hofrichter) Catanzaro; father of Jon Mark Catanzaro of Wexford, Jeff Catanzaro of CA, Joel Catanzaro of Wexford, Jarett Catanzaro of Gibsonia and James Catanzaro of Ross Twp.; John was the son of the late Frank and Jean Catanzaro of Oakmont. His first wife was the late Marie (Gregg) Catanzaro of Monessen and two brother-in-laws Robert Kinderman and Joseph Hofrichter. Survived by brother Joseph (Rose), Frank (Patricia) and sisters Joeen Catanzaro and Emanuella Singhose all of Oakmont, sister-in-laws Barbara Kinderman of Upper St. Clair, Clair and Charlotte Hofrichter of Kansas, two brother-in-laws James (Marilyn) Hofrichter of NC and William (Chanda) Hofrichter of FL; also survived by many nieces and nephews and six grandchildren Rico, Bethany, Jarett, Michael, John Francis and Domenic. Mr. Catanzaro served as Staff Sgt. in the US Army in WWII. He was a Produce Broker and Wholesaler in the Strip District for more than 60 years initiated by his father under Frank Catanzaro and Sons and most recently he was the President of Sun Fresh Food Service, Inc. John Catanzaro was a family man who had great love for his wives, sons and grandchildren. He enjoyed entertaining at his home and was a great enthusiast of boating on the Pittsburgh rivers. Friends received Saturday and Sunday 2-4 and 7-9pm at T. B. DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME, 806 Perry Hwy., North Hills. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Teresa of Avila Church, Monday 10am. Memorial contributions to the Catholic Charities, The American Heart Assoc. or the Salvation Army.
