Joan Ruth Heim of Cranberry Twp. passed away on January 20, 2024, at the age of 87. She was born in Pittsburgh to the late William and Elizabeth Baumann, attended Peabody High School and went on to graduate from Allegheny Community College.

She was a devoted mother to her children, including Bonnie (Bruce) Malmat, Eric Heim, Rebecca (Ronald David) Thompson, and the late Betsy Timosh. Her family extended far beyond her children, as she also held a special place in her heart for her grandchildren: Jennifer Retikis, Blake Thompson, Alexis Grau, Briana Spooner, Becky Malmat, Cathy Lewandowski, Michael Thompson, as well as the late Charity Timosh and the late Alexander Timosh. Joan’s legacy of love and care also lives on through her numerous great and great-great-grandchildren, who will always cherish her memory with deep affection.

Joan was a devoted homemaker for most of her life, dedicating her time to caring for her family and creating a warm and loving home. She had a passion for cooking, and her kitchen was always filled with the aroma of homemade meals. Joan was also very skilled at many needle art crafts and delighted in creating one-of-a-kind gifts for all of her family members.

She will be deeply missed by her family, but her feisty spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her. A private family gathering to celebrate her life will be held in her honor.
