Joan Dishart
Age 91, of McCandless Twp., formerly of Pittsburgh’s East End, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 30, 2021. Born Feb. 17, 1930, daughter of the late Joseph and Ida (Neugebauer) Schewe. Beloved wife of Kenneth T. Dishart, whom she married on March 25, 1961; loving mother of Michael, Peter (Linda), and Katy (Dan) Cole; dear sister of Joseph (the late Margie) Schewe.
Joan graduated from Peabody High school and then earned a masters degree at the University of Pittsburgh. She worked as a “draftsman” at J&L and later taught high school geography. As a young woman she was active in the American Youth Hostel program, where she met her future husband. After getting married, she dedicated her life to raising her family.
Family and friends are welcome on Thursday from 2-4, 6-8 pm at Devlin Funeral Home, 806 Perry Hwy., North Hills. Funeral Services will be held Friday at 9:30 am at the Funeral Home, with Rev Matt Klenk officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in Joan’s name to Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens

Such a loving, kind, sweet woman. I feel honored to have known her, heard that adorable giggle and seen that sweet smile so often. Your wonderful family is in my thoughts and prayers.

I am so sorry to hear of your mom’s passing. I will be praying for her as well as your family. This is always a difficult time . I am sure she is looking down on all of you from heaven and watching over all of you knowing that you will all be reunited one day for there is no real death only passing to a better life

Dearest Aunt Joan was such a loving person with a beautiful heart! Her smiles and laughter surrounded her presence. She was so loved on earth as in her human life. I pray for comfort for dear Uncle Ken, and her children Katy, Michael and Peter. I hope she is in peace and with my father. My love and condolences to my beloved Uncle and dear cousins and their spouses during this difficult time. I love you Aunt Joan, and you will always be in my heart. ❤️🩹your niece, Jill.
