Jimmy (James) Konetes, Born April 22, 1956, Age 69, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully in his home in Upper Burrell, PA on February 26, 2026.
Survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Vivi Konetes, and his children George (Jennifer Tissue) Konetes and Maria (Zachary) Haigis. Treasured Papou to Jimmy Konetes and Elias Haigis. Son-in-law of Anna Katsas. Sister-in-law Anna Marie Konetes and brother-in-law of Fotie (Rocío) Katsas. Uncle to Christina (Matthew Brandon) Lafoon, Anna Katsas, and Eleni Katsas. He is also survived by many extended family members and multiple lifelong friends.
He has gone to join his parents George and Mary, brother John, and father-in-law Elias in the awesome presence of God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Jimmy was greatly loved, a man of generosity, faith, and diligence. Over the course of his career, he was a baker, painter, contractor, and much more. In every season of life, he worked hard, striving for excellence, and setting a tremendous example to all who knew him. He was always there for anyone in times of need, eager to help, ready to listen. He had a zeal for life, loved to laugh, tell stories, and bring joy to others.
He enjoyed gardening and was a lifelong cook and artisanal baker, passing on his culinary passions to his children and anyone willing to learn.
Family and friends are welcome for a viewing on Wednesday, March 4th from 4:00pm-8:00pm at the Burket-Truby Funeral Home, 421 Allegheny Ave, Oakmont, PA 15139. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 5th at 11:00am at the same location with a procession to the graveside, at the Mt. Hope Cemetery, Penn Hills, PA.
