Jean Marie Monteverde Dempsey fell asleep in the arms of the Lord on October 10, 2023, at the age of 92. Jean was the beloved wife of the late Thomas J. Dempsey, Esquire. She is survived by her seven children: Thomas J. Dempsey, Jr., Esq. (Denise), William J. Dempsey (Joan), Mary E. Simbari (Mico), Eileen M. Buck, Esq. (Robert), John J. Dempsey, Joseph M. Dempsey (Anita), and Rosemary Spampinato (Len); twelve grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
From the age of seven, Jean thrilled audiences with her beautiful soprano voice. As a member of the St. Sebastian’s Players Guild, she earned accolades for her performance as Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady.
Jean graduated from Carlow College and earned a master’s degree in speech and audiology. She worked for the Pittsburgh Hearing Society, having a special interest in children with cleft palates.
As the mother of seven children, Jean reveled in being a homemaker and cook. Once the nest was empty, Jean went to work for the Shaler Area School District as a lunch grandma. She ended her working years as the bookkeeper for her late husband’s law practice.
In whatever role she undertook, Jean exhibited the love of Christ, the humility of a saint, and the brightness of the sun. She is and will be missed.

Jean was a wonderful woman that I knew from the same apartment building that I live in. An elegant women who always had a smile on her face. Will never forget all of her baked goods that she would make for other residents. Was always a joy for me to see her.
I am very sorry for your loss but I believe she will be heaven’s gain…God Bless you 🙏🏻
